Pretending to own a dog this past weekend + April in pictures

Hiya!! This past weekend, Jake and I dog sat for my coworker’s 6 month old goldendoodle puppy named Tumi. This dog is a walking breathing teddy bear, and he has the bounciness of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. He was an absolute treat to have around, but boy are we tired!

On Saturday, we took him on a hike to attempt to wear him out. He is very well trained for a puppy, and he is pretty good on the leash. We really want a dog, but living in a fifth story apartment and taking care of Tumi really showed us we want to wait until we have a yard.

People who live in our building are obsessed with Tumi! We have received so many compliments from neighbors I have literally never seen before. We were joking we should borrow Tumi to make friends, but it would be pretty awkward when they realized he’s not actually our dog.

Today I took him on a 3 mile run by the Long Island Sound, and he did amazing. I, again, had strangers coming up to me complimenting him and says things like, “I wish my dog would run with me like that on the leash,” and I would laugh nonchalantly like I’ve been the one who has trained this puppy to be basically perfect. His owners just came and got him a little while ago – we already miss him! But also feel like my heart rate has returned to its normal resting rate. It’s like having a giant toddler!

Anyways, I can’t believe it’s already May! It’s been getting warm here, and I can just feel summer coming! This past April has been so much fun since the weather’s been warmer, more people are getting vaccinated, Jake and I celebrated an anniversary, I got to see an old friend who lives in NYC, and Georgia came to visit!! I decided I will just do a photo dump of pictures from this past April 🙂

I got to see my old physics lab partner from freshman year, Kira, last week after 2 years of not seeing one another! She lives in NYC, and we have just had so much trouble finding some time to meet up / not getting snowed out. It was a blast seeing her on a WARM Saturday last week! We went to the Conservatory Gardens on the very northeast corner of Central Park and got to see lots of the blooming spring flowers.

I feel like every time I go into the city I just take pictures of everything around me! It was such a sunny day, and so many people were out gardening, sunbathing, picnicking, etc. It was so nice to see after the winter!

More of Central Park – look at that gender reveal party set up… so extra LOL

Jake and I celebrated our anniversary earlier this month near Bear Mountain State Park. We also visited the Storm King Art Center. Both were awesome! Can’t believe this was less than a month ago.

Storm King Art Center was so great that I’m going to take my parents back there when they visit in a couple weeks! Jake and I rented bikes when we went because we were so tired from hiking the day before at Bear Mountain. The visit with my parents we will explore on foot!

I have been enjoying all the blossoms right near our apartment. It’s so interesting to see the changes in color over time. Now a lot of these trees are just green leaves!

I have been doing a lot of rearranging of furniture and redecorating of the apartment the past week. I am hoping to be done in a couple weeks and then post a little photo tour on here 🙂 I’ll conclude with a picture of Tumi, who started acting out when we were packing up his toys and food earlier. I guess he wasn’t ready to leave us…

Have a great week ahead! Thanks for reading xo.
