Getting in the holiday spirit!

Long time, no blogging! I have been enjoying time back in Houston. The weather is sunny and warm here, so I definitely missed out on the northeast snow storm last week! It has been nice being back home with my family, and we have gotten to do some fun things together, including cooking, watching movies, and visiting the goats at the Houston Arboretum!

Yup, you read that right. Back around Thanksgiving, the Arboretum had a herd of goats visiting to help combat all the vegetation that has been growing like crazy. It’s a win-win – the Arboretum gets some much needed pruning and grazing, and the goats become well-fed.

There has also been lots of time spent crafting. This year I made ornaments for extended family members out of Christmas stamps I had laying around in my collection. I used card stock, lots of double sided tape, and some laminate to cover the front with. I also made do with scraps of ribbon laying around the house – I was DETERMINED to not have to go buy anything since we have so much crafting supplies laying around here. It was a lot of fun and how I spent most of my rainy Thanksgiving break.

I also helped my mom decorate our tree right after Thanksgiving. It’s been nice to enjoy all month long!

My brother came home this past weekend, and he was very up for making these eggnog cinnamon rolls I had been eyeing from Half Baked Harvest. They were a fun Sunday afternoon project (cinnamon rolls for dessert, anyone?!), and we learned a lot while making them! Of course, I took some pictures, and if you follow my brother on Instagram, you may have seen his play-by-play spiced with his funny commentary.

Before letting them sit and rise for 30 minutes
After!
Baked for 25 minutes at 350 degrees F
voila! so yummy

I’m just trying to get through the rest of this work week (my last work day in 2020 is tomorrow!!!!) and then I can’t wait for some rest and relaxation! I hope you all have a nice holiday if you celebrate! And a happy New Year! Next time I write it will be 2021!! xo.
