Flying on a private plane

My friend Emily’s fiancée, Adrian, is in the Air Force, and they offered to take Georgia and me flying!! I am scared of heights, so I was pretty nervous. But also could not pass this opportunity up! Our flight time was at 8 am on Saturday morning, so it was an early wake-up to get out to the airport in time.

We flew out from the Harvey & Rihn Aviation LaPorte airport.

Luckily, Georgia was not as nervous and was more than willing to sit in the front seat and co-pilot! Emily and I sat in the back, and we actually got to a great view from the side windows.

The views from the plane were a mix of pretty and not as pretty (classic Houston). The view of the water was nice, but there was also a lot of oil-related things out there!

Adrian was a fantastic pilot. He was very calm and safe, and he was really good at making us feel safe! He killed the engine once as a joke which I did not take well HAHA. But it was also super fun and felt like a roller coaster at the same time. We all had headsets on that we could hear each other talk into, so Adrian would periodically check that everyone was doing okay.

Georgia actually got to fly the plane a little! She was a really good pilot and even flew us in a complete circle around a water tower.
More views from the plane!

I’m so glad I did it! The landing was way smoother than I thought it would be. I was definitely on edge the whole time, so I hope if I ever go flying again, I can be much more relaxed. Thank you again to Adrian and Emily for a super adventurous Saturday morning! Happy Sunday!
