Recap: This past weekend in NYC

Hello blog! This past weekend was eventful, with a Hailee Catalano cookbook party on Friday and birthday shenanigans for Jackie later that evening through Sunday – with the bonus of the first snow in NYC this winter!

For the cookbook party, I made the spicy green marinated mushrooms, mustardy herb-buttered potatoes and the Earl Grey French silk pie, which was accompanied by several other dishes pictured below.

the pie 🙂

After the cookbook party, I met up with Alex and Mackenzie who were staying with me for Jackie’s birthday weekend. We got hot drinks with Jackie and then rested up for our big touristy day out with Jackie and her sister on Saturday. We visited the Bryant Park holiday market, Rockefeller tree and Central Park.

Later that night we had a delicious dinner out followed by Jackie’s birthday party. It started snowing late that night, and we woke up on Sunday to a winter wonderland. There were several snowball fights and snow angels made (not by me, I was too much of a chicken on getting my clothes wet).

Everyone who was visiting was able to return to Houston safely later on Sunday after some flight delays. Was a perfect December weekend 🙂
